Proses Pembuatan Paspor

Hej!

Sekarang ga usah kaya gitu. Dinas imigrasi udah menyediakan app buat ngambil nomor antrian. Nama appnya adalah (*4 not doraemon*): antrian pembuatan paspor. Tersedia di playstore maupun appstore.

A Trip to Big Bad Wolf Jakarta 2017

Tja! I have been in hiatus for a while ago. I thought reading my old books would cure my books addiction. But it didn’t.

Ah right, if you’re a bookstagrammers or bibliophile (especially in Asia) you already know the Big Bad Wolf Bookfair ? Finally after I skipped that event twice, I could join that event yeayyy cheers!

What is Big Bad Wolf Bookfair ? And why is it so special among the other bookfairs? It’s because the books that being provided are imported books! And the price is very very pricey. For example, the Aristotele and Dante Discover The Secret of The Universe, its normal price was Rp 165-198 thousand. But its price in this bookfair was Rp 65 thousand only! This event also provide various genres, from boardbooks to reference books, so everyone may join this event!

Gosh, as a person who was book-obsessed I have been waiting for this! My family and I were departed at 7.00 from home. Arrived in jakarta at 9 sharp. Unfortunately, the book Fair was held at Tangerang, an elite city used to be a part of Jakarta province. The journey was really smooth, until …

We were family of 5 (plus my grandmother, so it’ll make 6 of us). No one likes books in my family. Only me. Before we arrive there was a quite big debate, which place is gonna be visited first. My mother and my sisters have no interest in books, so do my grandma also my father (he only read religious books). And the other problem, tangerang is more far from Jakarta (about 20 km or more). Since the book Fair was open 24/7, and Thamrin city (a clothing market we wanted to visit) wasn’t open all the time,we were agreed to visit Thamrin city first, park our car there, and then go to big bad wolf book Fair by taking public transportation.

Powerless, I agreed. I thought my father knew the way to the location. BUT HE DOESN’T. At least he knew the public transports.

From the thamrin city, we (my father and me) were taking a bajaj (if you haven’t know bajaj, better check it out) to the Tanah Abang Station. Honestly, it was not that far. Less than 3 km I think. But,  the number of cars and motors on the road is so fckn crazy. The total time used to reach the station was 1 HOUR. The bajaj driver encourage us to walk, after 1 hour passed. And then we walked about 500 m to the station.

People are everywhere. I realized that there was a market in front of the station. I questioned, where are these people came from? Why are they here? Leaving their hometown for a smug city…

And then, we reached the train station, wasn’t too long to wait the commuter train. So much comfortable here. For about 30 minutes, we reached the Serpong station. A blog said, we must cross the road and take an angkot (the blue one), and then get off in front of the ITC junction (?) I’m not really sure. Luckily, we asked a passenger and he said “if you want to go to that bookfair, better take an ojek. No public transportation will take you exactly in front of the place.”

He was right. AND THE PRICE OF A NON-ONLINE OJEK IS SO EXPENSIVE GOSH. In Bandung, Rp 35 thousand will take you to Jatinangor. The ojek even didn’t loan us a fckn helmet!

We arrived at 13.30, I did skipped the lunch for the sake of joining this event. We entered hall 10 of ICE BSD convention center.

How was the bookfair? My my, I wish I was more healthy at that time.IT WAS SO HUGE. Haven’t start the hunting yet, I felt bellyache also tension in both of my feet.

Oh almost forgot, there are more than 5 rows of tables with books on top. A row contain at least 1-2 genres. Since it was the 4th day of the fair, some of the genres are already sold out especially boardbook, soundbooks, pop up books. And the piles weren’t really neat.

I only have 2 hours maximum to observe and pick any books that I like, I really want to explore more but no energy and time T_T. I only buy 5 books, and a box of postcards. Since I’m afraid I’ll not finished them all.

*picture above: the queue  to the cash registers at 2 pm

So sad, the bookfair didn’t provide what I was looking for… we left at 3 pm. Took a cab to the Rawa Mangu station, and arrived to tanah abang. Left jakarta at 6 pm. Traffic is everywhere.

Arrived in Bandung at 9.30 pm…

I’ll post the #bbwstash and the hunting results later. If you have any request or suggestion of what should I post next, feel free to comment below! See ya

Book diet: week 1

Phew! Finally a week has passed! And all of my orders of Astrid Lindgren books has arrived!

Well, maybe most of you thought that “oh, that’s great! Your books collections increased! You must be having fun reading the books!”

Well, that’s not true.
Usually I can read 300 pages in one day, but yesterday, I finished emil and the sneaky rat in 2 days… My reading ability (also my sight) has decreased. I haven’t see an eye doctor yet, but I feel it. When I watch a movie with the subtitles on, and the caption taxt becomes 2… It’s a very bad thing

Besides, I lost very much hair this month. I read somewhere that there are 3 problems causing BAD hair fall: stress, and I don’t remember the rest of the causes, haha. I think about books and bookstore discounts too much. So far, I’ve missed 3 discounts promotions in several bookstore. And I’m very gald and proud about it, why?

For example, when I haven’t bought Astrid Lindgren’s books, I’m over thinking about it too much, I can’t sleep in most nights, I spent so MUCH time on the screen looking at the stuff I don’t need. When the stuff arrived at the door, I was thinking: “damnit! What did I do with these books? I just discovered that level again game and twenty! I dont need this stuff to killing my time!” Well, I don’t want to refund this stuff either…

When I look at my room, I realized that, my books has been spreading to the other desk in my room. I will get another difficulty and more time to tidying and arranging my stuff.

So, from my firts week of ny book diet, I learned that:
– I don’t have to buy books at every certain occasions (such as independence day discount, end of month discounts)
– I must be careful more next time when choosing a book in a bookstore (there are so much books that can be read at ince, but feel really boring and awful when I reread it again)
– I must pay very much attention to my health (I easily get dizzy after waking up or standing after crouching. In fact, I’m not 20 uears old yet)

So, this is my book ban. How’s yours? See ya!

Book Diet

Hej guys! Remember me?

Yes, my book ban has officially ruined a few months ago. Since July – August are my midsummer holiday, I keep buying books (most of them are preloved also limited edition). I won’t miss a chance to own those books, since the ebook wasn’t available. One of the books was already uploaded (the read aloud version) in youtube, can you guess it, which book was that?

Apart from books, I also doing some new kind of activities, like: tapestry weaving, playing with my cat, watch videos, bookstagram, vsco cam, wreck this journal, and so on.

And, before august will be end soon, I will ‘closing’ my book habit with increasing my collection of astrid lindgren’s books. Her books was published in the early 2009, it has a little chance to be republished again because it wasn’t sold really well.

Before making this decision, I also talked with a friend, she likes books too. Our conversation was like this:

*previously talking about allegiant*

Her: yeah, because there are many things that weren’t explained in the movies

Me: Hey, I need your opinion. Remember about the ‘the brothers lionheart’ I recommended for you? Just last night (to be honest a month ago) I discovered the book was available in an e-commerce! Do you think I should buy it? It’s rather expensive, Rp 100.000 (normally, kid lit genre only costs about max. Rp 30.000) and it also not new

Her: I think you should check its rating first

Me: It has big rating, 4.3/ 5. And the book will not be republished again.

Her: I think you better buy it. It’s really worth because it’s limited edition. Don’t miss the chance! Before it will be owned by someone else.

Me: ah thanks.

I know, last week I had a light family problem (about food scramble). It getting into my nerves…. because of it, I want to shops more of astrid lindgren’s books (my plan was getting 1 book). The budget reach at number 300.000….. I can’t think clearly when I’m depressed

And I also confused, when I ask something I REALLY REALLY want to my mom, she just responds “you have your own money right? Just use it” she said :’|

“Just use it” “Just use it” “Just use it” “Just use it” “Just use it” “Just use it” “Just use it” “Just use it” the words keep buzzing in my head, whenever I found something interesting

In my previous post, I accumulated my budget for books. It reach at number 1 million rupiahs. If it summed with my summer books shopping, I think it almost reach 2 million rupiahs, exclude this ‘closing book habit’.

My book diet will be ended at December, I have a big feeling that this time I will mean it! See you soon!

NB: the list of ‘what I will buy this year’ wasn’t running like I expected. I got ‘the invoice’ book for free from blogging for books. ‘The chronicles of Harris Burdick’ paperback version was just available in an import bookstore a week ago. So, I replace them with another books in my reading list

My Book Ban Report

Hufft, I think it’s have been 1-2 weeks, I haven’t write anything in this blog yet. I’ve been busy for a while, joining giveaways and doing all college activities.

Oh, what about my book ban. I keep myself busy, so I still maintain my book ban, aren’t I?

That’s half true. I still maintain my book ban….. onlinely. I haven’t buy anything in online store, especially books. And offline store? Book ban for offline store is ruined. I become a committee for my grand opening for campus’ bookstore. Of course there were a huge book fair right there. I ended up bought a journal about Flora in Java for 120k (normal price waas 200k). And I won 2 giveaway: a ‘Landline’ book by Rainbow Rowell from a local press and a book about maintaining an online store, the writer gave it to me from a seminar. Haven’t read both yet.

From 3 books, now I have 7 books to be read in my waiting list…

What books are those? I will tell you in the next post, see ya!

Testimoni @allucanpick END

Setelah sekian hari menghilang, aku langsung menghubungi owner @thisisnotabookstore. Katanya sista itu siap ngebantuin aku buat ngegeberin admin @allucanpick. Akhirnya sekitar 1-2 hari, admin allucanpick  menghubungi aku. Katanya bukunya memang tidak sampai di rumahnya, jadi admin itu akan merefund uangku. The end.

Demikianlah

About This Book Loves You

Do you know This Book Loves you by Pewdiepie?

Well, I don’t know if I’m critique or mocking his book. I posted a comment in youtube that this book is the most expensive toilet paper, and should stay in the internet and can be downloaded for free. Than being printed with a very very expensive price. And then, there are 2 persons that get butthurt because of my comments. They say:

Respect others’ works

Respect others’ works. Don’t talk carelessly

Welp, I don’t talk carlessly. I’ve read more than 100 books, I know which one is a good book and which one isn’t. Have you ever read experience book by @bungamega or #88 love life? Well they both printed in the same quality, and it’s HARDCOVER, and has ‘contents’ too. Their contents can motivated my life, and it’s for sale in every bookstore. The price is about 1/6 – 1/3 of This Book Loves You.

I’ve read a few pages from youtube and goodreads. So far, the book is like:

don’t be something that ____. X is awesome. So be X

I’m not a fan of Pewdiepie, maybe this books is dedicated to his fans. Maybe only them that understand this kind of content and humor.

So, as the book is available in every country in the world, it’s everyone rights to criticize it. Not just this book, but every works. People criticize it in various ways. Don’t get butthurt easily, introspective yourself.

Do you violate copyright law? How about the movies and mp3 songs in your phone? Do you download it legally? Do you still photocopying your text books?

Testi belanja buku pre order di @allucanpick (instagram)

Long time no see,eh?

Kalau pernah baca posting postingan aku sebelumnya, kalian tau kan kalau aku sedang menjalani masa book ban. Yaitu dimana aku ga boleh belanja buku (apalagi online) selama periode tertentu.

A trip to Reading Lights Bandung

Ok, maybe you’ve seen my previous post about book ban. Yeah I’m doing a book ban now. Yesterday was an ascension day and today is isra miraj day. Since this is a golden week,  we can’t spend it just by staying at home.

Speaking of golden week, the first day of it, I’m spending the time in Reading Lights Bandung! I know this bookstore from a public lecture when it was world books day. It’s a library-bookstore-cafe. There is such a little thing about library cafe in Indonesia, especially in Bandung. As a business appreciator, I’m gonna take a hit.

Reading Lights is located in Jalan Siliwangi Bandung no. 16, It’s not far from bbs Cikapundung, about 100 m away. If you want to go there, you can take a damri from buah batu and stop in Jalan Dipatiukur, thus take a cicaheum and ciroyom angkot. Angkot is a small car public transportation that has specific colors and different tracks in each colors.

Since Reading Lights is a library based, the books are second condition, all in foreign language (majority english, few are dutch or german) and only sells it at the very low low low price, it’s about Rp 5000 – 300.000, depends on the author, ratings and how old the book is. Me and my sister bought 4 books (1 HC) for only 100.000, isn’t that amazing?

Welcome to your new home!

It’s my first time going to RL, the visitors are not many, I arrived at 12.05 in the mid day, and we are the FIRST customer. It was cloudy outside, when we entered the store I admit it was a little bit spooky.

The collections are not as many as you see from their twitter or facebook, maybe most of the books were being bought by the previous customers. You are able to book a book for 10 days and pay it later. Which is I think impossible because the books are very cheap tho. Or  if you are looking for a book and it’s unavailable, you can wait in the waiting list. OR if you don’t have any money, you can only read books WITHOUT order anything!

RL doesn’t provide heavy meal like rice, or burger. But they provides some ‘heavy’ snack such as sandwich, french fries, cream soup, pancake, spaghetti; and regular beverages such as coffee, tea, and soft drinks. The price of beverages are about Rp 5.000 – 20.000 and the price of food is about Rp 18.000 – 35.000.

It also provide a praying room, an unisex toilet, smoking area, and WIFI. Praying room and toilet are on the second floor, you must take the  left stairs, the right stairs led you to the office which is forbidden. If you buy books at least Rp 100.000, you can get a member card! The benefits of being a member are:

  1. You can get 10% discount on beverage
  2. Collect the stamps and you’ll get a discount!
  3. You can exchange books!
  4. You can sell books here (I thinks it’s valid to all visitors)

I took some photos of RL, just take a look!

NB: the manager you see as the cashier is Teh Puti, she’s alumnus from Unpad who took destintry major

Book Addiction

Do you like books? Do you collect books? Well, we have the same hobby! I like books, I love hearing people’s opinion through books, I like getting secondary experience, etc. etc. etc,

But, just this morning, I realized I can’t control myself from buying books. I count it, and it’s like I bought a book maybe once until twice a week, and the book I bought is rarely cheap though.

I know, hobby is something that we love, we never get bored of doing it. But too much hobby is dangerous, I mean, We spent our life by doing hobby, prioritizing it, if I’m not doing it, I get anxious, nervous and loss my focus.  Continue reading “Book Addiction”
